More Renovations

As many of you know, I am an art quilter and do lots of different projects.

RV’S are never set up for crafter so I took matters in to my own hands and took out one of the dinette benches.

I found a Shelf that fit in that area perfectly then used the table over the other bench. Now I can quilt away to my hearts content.

This was the disaster in progress.

Here is the finished area. So much better.

Easy Cooking with Copper Pans

When we started on our Rv’ing adventures I took along my very favorite cooking pans and dutch oven. It didn’t take long to figure out that they just were too heavy. Too much weight storing them in the oven and way too heavy for me to pick up anymore so I looked for an alternative but still wanted the great tasting food.

I did a lot of research especially on copper pans. After all, they were all over the news and in so many commercials. Must be something to it right? I found many brands but the reviews were not stellar. I kept looking until I found the Gotham Steel cookware.

I was just going to get a couple of fry pans then found a deal on the full cookware set so decided to jump on it and am very glad I did. Our food does not stick to the pans and clean up is a breeze. They are lightweight and really do a great job of even cooking. I have found that things like meat cook quite a bit faster in them also. I love my cookware set and use it every day.

Just this afternoon I made hot Hamburger sandwiches with tater tots in no time. I left the gravy off mine as I don’t care for soggy bread but they were delicious.

What type of cookware do you use on your travels?

Etsy shops that is. Yes I finally got around to opening one after many people asked me about doing it.

I’ve only got a few items listed but will be adding more every day. Please visit and leave a comment or favorite it and I will return the favor.

My shop is mostly about fabric with RV and camping themes but I also do finished quilts and gifts.

The Secret to Updating Your RV

Have you decided to go full-time or even just weekends and find the perfect RV? The inside has everything you want as far as layout, appliances and space but the colors, curtains, blinds and hardware are just not to your taste. What do you do about it other than hire an expensive decorator. My advice, go for it!

For us it was spending some time finding our style then doing some DIY after finding the perfect paint, fabric, wallpaper, tile, ways to hang items, adding shelves, hooks and new hardware.

Our fifth wheel has a great layout but I hated the dark colors. I love country and shabby chic so I went online for ideas. I found the perfect fabric for the valances and dinette cushions. Yes I redid those by myself with a little help from hubby.

Next it was time to paint. Bruce took down all the cabinet doors then took the hardware off. It took me a little while to find the perfect color because I wanted a paint that was easy to use, would go on in one coat, no stripping of the old paint, no sanding or priming.

It took me about two weekends to do our dining, living room and kitchen areas. I was working pretty much full time at a very busy RV park so couldn’t do it all at once. That paint is really amazing. It is very easy to put on, looks fantastic and is holding up very well to our full-time lifestyle. I did apply a clear sealer over all surfaces so that I could wipe down any spills.

Then I found some easy peel and stick wallpaper for the dinette area. It looks like wood but in a lighter color and I love how simple and quick it was to install. It really made the whole dining room pop!

Our kitchen is nice but only had a small back splash. I really wanted tile for looks first then of course ease of cleaning. I found some that was simple to install. Just peel and stick.

You can do this. Just go for it! Leave comments and photos of your DIY!!
