Campers Feeding Us

Workamping has it’s ups and downs but generally there are way more ups. We are always meeting great people who offer us food and drinks.

Today was no exception. We were traveling around the Campground when some very nice Canadian visitors stopped us with a tray of awesome food.

Venison sausage, smoked trout, cheese and crackers! It was really well made and delicious! They had made it all themselves so it was especially nice of them to share it with us.

Washing Machine-Portable Review

We are Workamping for three months in Up-State NY and the laundry mat is at the far end of the campground with no air conditioning. The temperatures are hovering in the 90’s here! No way am I sitting in a hot building waiting for our clothes to be washed and I do not like the weight or performance of washers and dryers in the RV so I went on a hunt for an alternative.

Wow did I find one. I searched on Amazon and found a really great one that works fantastically. I read all the reviews and decided on the 24 pound compact Best Choice Compact Mini.

It is very easy to pick up and move around, cleans very well and does a great job spinning the clothes almost dry. I put it in our shower, fill it with water and detergent, turn it on then wait for the magic to happen. After the wash cycle and spinning is finished I hang our clothes to dry on a rack that hubby attached to the ladder on the rear of our RV. Makes quick and easy work of the dreaded laundry task.

The price is reasonable also and no more spending time or money at a laundry mat. Let me know what you think if you decide to get one. Clicking on the product link above will take you right to it and give us a little gas money as an Amazon affiliate.

How do you wash your clothes on the road?

Local Adventures While Workamping

The last few days have been busy. We do our jobs 24 hours a week for our space then get to go play. We went to Lackland Air Force Base last week to get Sea World Tickets then found out Sea World is only open one week in November so have to wait until the 20th to go.

That’s OK. We went to the Air Museum and shopped at the BX instead. Of course I got my Charlie’s cheese steak for lunch again so was a happy girl.

B&W

Today we decided to find a casino in the area. Kickapoo in Eagle Pass was a nice place. Very friendly employees, really nice buffet that wasn’t too expensive and we both got a very nice coin for being Military.

CasinoVeteran Chip

Bruce had fun at the penny slots while I played video poker. We both won a little money so it was a good day. I also got a couple of chips to add to my daughter’s and my casino chip collection. The only table game they have is Poker so I went to the room and bought the $1 chips.

On the way to the Casino I found another National Fish Hatchery so we drove in. Yes they had a stamp for my passbook so it was a fun day all around.
